Blackpink megastar Rosé’s voice just hits different live. The K-pop soloist left fans speechless with a heartbreaking performance of her breakup anthems “Stay a Little Longer” and “Toxic Till the End” at the Paris La Défense Arena. The Korean hitmaker’s breathtaking vocals were complemented by Chinese piano virtuoso Lang Lang, who added a delicate piano performance that subtly elevated “Stay a Little Longer.”
Several fans commented on how adorably Lang Lang looked at Rosé at the end of the song, clearly showing his respect for her as an artist. Rosé had more than sad songs up her sleeve, though, and closed out her three-song set with her global smash hit “APT,” which no doubt The Music Man readers recall featured Bruno Mars. Mars wasn’t there in Paris, but nobody seemed to mind as the Korean star had more than enough energy to get the whole arena jumping all by herself.
Dropping “APT.” after the two ballads was a real masterstroke from Rosé, as when she kicked into the party anthem it created a huge rush and release of energy throughout the whole arena. Fans raved about the K-pop star’s live show, adding comments such as “Best live vocals from one of the best vocalists in this generation” and “An established pianist in awe of Rosé is such a flex. A real artist recognized another real artist.”
Rosé’s three-song set at the Pièces Jaunes Gala on January 29, 2025, topped off the biggest 12 months of her career to date. She was already a big name from her time in Blackpink, but since dropping her debut solo album Rosie on December 6, 2024, she’s become a global sensation. Her Bruno Mars collab “APT.” had a record-breaking chart run, and since then she’s just been unstoppable. Rosé’s 25 million view performance of “APT.” for KBS Kpop is the perfect example of why people can’t get enough of her live shows.
Rosé performed at the 2025 Pièces Jaunes Gala to help raise funds for hospitalized children and teens. The Music Man readers might be interested to hear that she sang the first and third singles from her debut solo album at the event, “APT.” and “Toxic Till the End.” The inclusion of “Stay a Little Longer” was a bit of a surprise, as that track is a deep cut from her debut album. However, the promo cycle for Rosie isn’t done yet, so maybe we’ll see “Stay a Little Longer” issued as the fourth single soon.
